Switch to the new Facebook page

We haven’t got round to updating OUR PAGE yet but we will be taking a look some time next week. In the mean time it’s worth reading THIS ARTICLE from Social Mouths, it gives a good breakdown of what is about to happen.

As usual with Facebook there are some good things and some not so good things, for example you get a nice big image to use for your landing area (See Hubspot example below) but you are restricted to the content you can display, see FACEBOOK RULES.

Toys Not Targeted at Children

Model brand Hornby targets adults

Came across this article on Marketing Week’s Website and thought it was worth sharing. Model brand Hornby is to launch its first ever brand campaign and it’s aiming it at adults rather than children! Sky Sports and ESPN will replace the normal children’s’ TV spots and ads will also run in cinemas. Logos for all of the companies brands will appear at the end of the advert, can you remember them all? Check out the video below to see if you were right…

Do You ‘Like’?

1 in 10 Facebook users do

Interesting infographic from CROWD SCIENCE, based on a survey of just over 1,200 people they have drawn some conclusions on why and what people ‘Like’ on Facebook. Interesting to see why people engage with brands and that support and enjoyment are joint top.

Your Online Reputation

Are you managing it effectively?

Everything you put online about yourself is a virtual window into your life. Your CV, holiday snaps, personal information, opinions and views; what may seem like harmless banter to you can be misinterpreted by others and you have to live with the consequences. We should all be more careful when posting information and think a little more about who could potentially see if and what they might think of it, i.e. would you want your boss (Or potential employer) to see what you got up to on your friends stag / hen weekend?

Interesting info graphic below from KBSD illustrating why our online reputation is important and why it is important to make sure you do your best to manage it effectively.

Facebook Timeline

Would you like to know more?

Just in case you hadn’t heard or if you needed a reminder we thought we would put together a few bits of information on Facebook Timeline, prompted by a nice article from Social Media Examiner. They have taken a look at some of the more creative uses of photography within timeline, at the moment timeline is only available to registered Facebook Developers but we are expecting it to launch to everyone within the next few weeks.

For more official information pop over to Facebook for a good explanation on how it will all fit together or take a look at the video below, you can also catch this video (And a range of other useful stuff) at Mashable.
