You wouldn’t be the only one!
Several of our clients have asked us about compliance with the recent changes to the laws regarding the notification of your cookie policy to your website users. Basically the onus is on you to ask your users if they would or wouldn’t like to accept the use of cookies whilst browsing your website.
What happens if you don’t do this? Probably not much as enforcement is very relaxed at the moment but big websites could potentially face fines of up to £500,000 if they don’t start to look like they are making changes to comply with the new laws. What do we think? Better safe than sorry and it is good practice to give your users the choice when visiting your website. We simply installed a plugin on our WordPress site and we will be doing the same for all our clients free of charge.
