Responsive Websites

The term responsive websites has been around for a while now and generally clients are aware (and keen) on making sure their website ‘adapts’ to the device it is being viewed on. Google is also a fan and they take a mobile first approach when they index your website.

All our websites are responsive by default (we don’t charge extra) and we make sure all the individual features work correctly regardless of screen size which sometimes means having to replace certain parts of the design for mobile or tablet.

We also work hard to make sure that the look and feel of the website is consistent. This generally means starting with the mobile device and then working on expanding the display rather than decreasing it. Works well as you can see from the example below. And our own analysis shows (for our clients at least) that mobile usage is creeping up on desktop usage.

Average usage (MWM clients overall) by device July 2019 – June 2020

  • Desktop 48%
  • Mobile 45%
  • Tablet 7%
